Chocolate Cheesecake Protein Toast

Chocolate cheesecake protein toast.

Why this is peri-perfect… Toast that feels like an indulgent treat while giving you muscle-loving protein and hormone-friendly nutrients. The cottage cheese and protein powder deliver a solid protein hit to keep you full and steady, while cacao adds magnesium - a mineral that supports mood, sleep, and stress resilience in perimenopause. Sourdough provides slow-release energy and gut-friendly prebiotics, balancing the sweetness of fruit or a light drizzle of maple. The optional berries bring antioxidants that protect against inflammation and support brain health. It’s chocolatey, satisfying, and a delicious way to enjoy a sweet moment without the blood sugar rollercoaster.

Ingredients:

1 thick slice sourdough bread

1/2 cup (120g) low fat cottage cheese

1tbsp (10g) chocolate protein powder

1tsp cacao

A few drops vanilla (pure)

Pinch of salt – optional (to bring out the chocolatey richness)

Optional tiny drizzle: Maple syrup or a few dark choc chips

If you have them: Raspberries or sliced strawberries

Instructions:

  1. Toast your sourdough until golden and crunchy.

  2. In a bowl, mix the cottage cheese, chocolate protein powder, cocoa, vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Stir until smooth and mousse-like.

  3. Spread that chocolate protein fluff generously on your toast.

  4. Top with a light drizzle of syrup or a few dark chocolate chips, and scatter berries if you’ve got a few spare calories.
