Mocha Protein Balls

Why this is peri-perfect… These mocha power balls deliver the perfect balance of energy, protein, and hormone-friendly nutrients to keep you steady through the day. The combination of protein powder, nut butter, and high-protein Greek yoghurt gives you a solid 8–10g of protein per ball, helping to stabilise blood sugar and curb cravings (a game-changer in peri). The coffee and cacao nibs provide a gentle energy lift and antioxidant boost, while almond flour adds fibre and healthy fats to keep your hormones happy. They’re portable, satisfying, and the perfect pick-me-up when you need something more nourishing than another coffee.

Makes 8 balls | 120 calories each | ~8g protein per ball

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (40g) vanilla protein powder

1/2 cup (45g) almond flour

1 tbsp nut butter (of choice)

3 tbsp Greek yoghurt (high-protein style like YoPro or Chobani Fit)

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

2 tbsp cacao nibs

1 espresso shot of coffee or 1 tsp instant coffee diluted in 4tbs boiling water

 

Method:

  1. Blend dry: Combine protein powder, almond flour, and salt in blender.

  2. Add wet: Blend in nut butter, yoghurt, and vanilla extract until a dough forms.

  3. Adjust texture: Add the coffee liquid and keep blending till a fudgey ball forms.

  4. Fold in cacao nibs: Or roll them in at the end.

  5. Shape: Roll into 8 bite-sized balls.

  6. Chill: Pop in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to firm up.
